Manley rods and pistons for compression in the high 10's.
290/302 cams and springs and some port work or, if you want to go further.....a couple of these... http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/pa ... ield=10707 But your intake won't fit them so some adaptors or intake mods would be required. |

Seriously? The BOSS heads are second only to the Ford GT heads (for stock heads) @OP, decide if you want a n/a or charged build. if n/a then year increase compression ratio and add big cams. if boosted, keep CR stock, and strengthen everything - win.

That's right...they are GT heads! Just the versions used on the GT500. |

Hi all thanks for all the responses, also just wondering if any one can tell me if the boss 290 pistons will fit in the boss 260 engine for a higher comp ratio also thinking about a hi stall to give it that bit extra on take off but not to much what do you people think

And you'd be wasting the extra compression without the bigger GT cams/head work.

I wouldn't get GT pistons unless you can get them cheap...I'd get Manley,Mahle or other quality aftermarket forged ones and get some beefy rods while you're at it.
