is there any way to get a simple inline device that will output 5v so i can run a tps for a gastec micro processor?
how many amps do i need
so far i have found this(CAT. NO. KC5463 jaycar kit) will it do

Why not tap into the existing TPS wiring? It's already 5v.

As Dan said.. Otherwise that kit will do what you want and is high current. Can have it off a switch/relay to turn on with accessories.

I think he's running straight gas in a Landcruiser (based on his profile).

That kit will work fine. If you're handy with a soldering iron (I guess you are based on the kit choice) you could also get a 7805 Regulator, they are only 3 pins and rock solid devices. You could put one in a small jiffy box with some connectors for about $10.
