The miss's has an EL Ghia, the auto has an intermitant fault, driving with the shifter in D it will all of a sudden feel like the has been knocked into N, but has not, i'll take my foot of the throttle pedel let the revs drop, accelerate again and it's fine, I thought it may be low fluid, I checked the level and is not low (it was also serviced about 30,000 ks ago according to the service sticker). This could happen several times a day or once in two weeks. any help would be much appreciated, cheers.

If your just cruising along and it randomly does it, i'd say the neutral/start switch on the left side of the box is rooted...

Or the shfter mechanism needs adjusting. It may be biased just that little bit forward that vibrations are making it contact neutral every now and then.

If its doing it under acceleration, I'd still say there was a chance for low fluid.

Could put the dash into diag mode and watch the shifter position indicator and see what the screen shows when it happens.

It's been that long I cant remember.

Doco is in the Tech Documents section, something about "EL Cluster Diagnostics".

Check the selector linkage also, from memory the link from the selector to the link to the trans has a rubber grommet, might be cactus.

Are the T'bar bushes gone???.....when you fit new ones, use Zinc oxide grease....it's especially for plastics....and you can use it for the door catches too.
