like I said to XR-Lane I'd be quite offended... You need green or something to STAND OUT... 8-) or even a nice ford blue (diff shade to waggin's)

Congrats on the job role... Now I have two more people to complain to when I have problems... :)

Yeah cheers all... I might have a surf around ebay and see if i can't find some sort of amplifier to see if it then works better... still haven't tried AM yet... 99% of time listen to my ipod...

Thanks all...

Tim

Just had another look at your pics mate. I think that you are getting interferrance by the actually antenna (metal part) touching the body of the car. This is why there is that little plastic bit around the hole in the fender. Try putting something around the metal part where it is touching the body. i.e. rubber or something like that

Hi there,

The antenna is entirely plastic... It is a wound copper around ferrite bar slid down inside slightly flexible PVC piping with the main antenna wire coming out the middle of that junction box... The antenna touches no metal anywhere...

Cheers,
Tim

i removed the antenna on my el and filled the hole,i mounted the stock antenna inside the guard(from the factory location vertical, just made it horizontal with a couple of brackets) it was almost fully extended and had perfect reception
