Not having a tool in the shop, regardless of what tool it is, is hardly a good reason to change mechanics...

cool cool, he did have a neat way of undoing the bolt that holds the balancer in tho, jam a spanner against the ground connected to it and then flick the ignition so the starter motor goes off slightly, because its anti clockwise or whatever it undoes itself, we partly removed the splash tray so the spanner could reach the ground

hmmmm dudgy dodgy dodgy, hasn't your mechanic heard of a rattle gun????

when i did mine i pulled the thermo fan out, radiator out and then i used a rattle gun.

your mecahnic used and old school dodgy bodgy trick LOL

as everyone has said get a new mechanic

Every one does that to get the balancer bolts loose. saves having to take the rad out. which means saving an hours work and $50 of coolent.

Ahhh thanks for that, rest my case :-) as you said everyone does it but i didnt know and found it pretty cool
