hey all my car currently has an intermitent problem with the gear box sensor (i think ) where after the car is warm the car doesnt even attempt to turn over like asif the sensor still thinks it is in gear nd wont allow the starter solenoid to pull in.
does anyone know whether i can just simply dissconnect the sensor and all will be good or not? cheers

what car???
the e series t5 neutral switch has no effect on starting, it only tells the ecu that the car is in neutral, thats all... unless someone has wired it into the start curcuit |

gear box came out of an ea s pack and yeh wont allow the car to start in gear has to be in neutral so its probly my neutral switch playing up then

It is supposed to only allow it to start in neutral.
That means you can't reach in through the window and start the car not realising it is in 1st gear and have it drive away on you. Learnt this the hard way. Don't change it. Cheers BenJ

if its wired into the ignition curcuit just join the wires together
|

its pretty frustrating have to push start the car.......
