gday i've been around to countless places trying to find the correct rocker gasket i've got a jn255ez but 8 times out of 10 the stores keep telling me different although i looked on the acl website and it says all 4.1's use the same valve cover gasket just after a confirmation i would of been alright if wangheads at the shops didnt confuse the hell out of me

that number sounds about right.
when i was working in ford spares 24 years ago the genuine one used to have problems leaking, we used the repco one for warranty repairs, no problems with comebacks.
repco one was thicker than the genuine.
check your rocker cover is straight too on the mounting sections, and we didnt use silicon, just a thin smear of oil

Use Contact cement to hold it to the cover, and a smear of Hi-temp grease on the head side of the gasket.....always worked for me...no oil leaks.

When XFs were new, the service dept where I worked used R1 43M and silicone sealer to fit the Rocker cover gasket. R1 43M is contact adhesive.
