Change plugs. Make sure you use Bosch double platinums and make sure they're gapped to 1.1mm or less and use dielectric grease generously in and around the rubber boots on each coil. Backfiring is almost always caused by a weak ignition system.

Maybe my mechanis didnt gap them when he put them in For petrol-only engines, those plugs should last around 100,000km but for gas engines, expect the life to be shortened by 30%-50%. Gas is much harder on the ignition system. Electrode gap is very important, as is a seal free from spark leak between each coil and plug.

Many LPG Fitters actually prefer not to use platinum/iridium plugs, and will switch back to normal plugs for LPG.

Bosch double-platinums have been proven to work well on B-series gas engines. Just make sure that your coil boots have had plenty of grease applied to them to prevent spark leak and the plugs will last 80,000km.
