Hey guys,

Mate of mine is having a problem with his XH ute. Basically, it's not starting. It was driving perfectly, and he came out to it the next morning and it's just turning over and over. He eventually got it started by flooring the throttle with a black plume of smoke and it started, but was idling low. It drove fine around the block but when turned off, it wouldn't start again. It has a full tank of fuel and no previous problems.

Spark plugs are ok, smartmodule seems fine. What else should we check? Any ideas what it could be?

Thanks in advance
Mark

How would he check relay/pump relay?

Is it possible that the pump could have failed? Where is the pump located?

Can you hear the pump whirring?
Get some one in the tray to listen for it as you turn the key.

Mine killed a pump and did the same thing.
Its under the floor on the passenger side. If you have a tub liner that needs to be removed. Then theres a hatch with four screws, lift that up to access tank.
