looks like you have to remove the center console, which is 2 screws at the back of the center console into the floor, 2 under the drink holder and 2 under the coin holder bit just infront of the auto, not sure what else as i have a manual...

Did you get it done?

Once you get the console out, you just need to unclip the 4 clips that hold the auto shifter surround to the shifter assembly that bolts to the floor. Then unclip the globe from the shifter surround. Reverse to install

yes i did if you see my introduction post you can see that i have put quite a bit in since i bought the car just over a month ago. new cat back sports exhaust i got for free when i discovered the old one was bogged for a roadworthy. i hit the guy i bought it from for a new one and he payed. new steering wheel from an au xr new momo shifter, woodgrain surround and i put some of my own blue globes into the dash the surround and footwells. i have just purchased a j3 chip and an xr8 bf gt pod box and a special scoop from ebay that forces air into the snorkel. so i have been busy.

I've found the AU has been weird to mod after all this work I've done on the EA. To fit chrome interior door handles meant I had to remove the door trims. To change the shifter surround meant I had to pull out the console, and as for when I fitted my EL GT steering wheel, I know what you mean about the bloody 5 pointed torx bit!

and then for ford to just go back to the normal torx again is stupid. yes, i was a little intimdated with the door cards at first seein ef ones were easy as. i will never know why ford changed nearly nothing froem ea to el then au was all weird and s**t

if you think au's are bad, dont touch an fg. from the b series to the f series everything has gone torx bolts. you need torx drivers to remove your door tim, the speakers, hell you even need them to open the air cleaner to change the filter!
