I am about to put an after market stereo into my 2002 au sIII forte, I have recently heard that you cant take the stock stereo out or it will f*#k up your ecu. :(
Is this a load of S@#T or am I screwed?

its a load of rubbish.. i just fitted an aftermarket head unit in my mrs au and the only wires there are for audio only, so the head unit has no association with the ecu at all..

the only issues in smartlock models is if you accidently blow the fuse the car wont start untill the fuse has been replaced...
