I'm a newbie here and guess this has been mentioned before, my ? is, will a 5TFA XR6 ECU make an EF Gli Falcon perform or run better than the standard 4DBF ECU.

XR6 will change the shift patterns of your auto and do a few more things besides. To get the best from it you should really find an XR6 fuel regulator (higher pressure) and at least have an XR6 cam.
Welcome to Fordmods, I'll jump in and suggest you try using the SEARCH function (it does work, I've been told)... You should try having a look for the {DESCRIPTION} thread. |

Providing the 5TFA is a EF ecu, it will fit.
Being close to the end of the EF series the numbers are really for EL ECU's so make sure the pin outs are Blue instead of red before purchasing. I know the ECU Catch Codes database refers it as a EF, but I haven't sighted the ECU personally to confirm. Saying all that, Yes it will fit and make f**k all difference as the XR ECU is tuned for a different cam, fuel pressure and a slightly different head. It will however feel better as the gear shift patterns are slightly more aggressive and you have a higher speed limiter

Thanks guys, will look into the cam and fuel reg side of things, OK next ?'s which brings in the NCII part of the subject and my apologies if this goes OT abit, because the harness plugins are different on the EF to the EB-EDs and ELs being one has 100 pins and the other has 60, etc, would anyone know if the ECU harness section out of an NCII (ECU-1DKD) Fairlane plug into the EF engine and engine bay harness's?
