Hi all,
I'm considering fitting an EL Fairy front bar onto my EF Gli wagon, is it a straight bolt up job or will I need to do the whole front end (bar, bonnet, lights etc) for it to match up properly.

it will fit fine, but you'll have a gap between your headlights.

to do it properly means bonnet and lights aswell.

you can keep the ef gli lights, they still fit, same lense and backing, just different internals(reflector, wiring etc)
the fairmont ones have a high beam in the outer lights, whereas the ef gli dont
the gli doesnt have a grille, the fairmont does and will cover the gap between the lights
you could always make up some custom grille to keep the gli bonnet, it would have to look good though

Apologies, I had a closer look at one today and saw straight away what you meant.
I have a spare GLi bar laying around, I could get all creative like and graft the center section (grill) onto a Fairy bar.... But I'd be worried about C**k it up.
Would look different though......

The only shape difference between Fairmont and Falcon headlights is the inner corners- the Mont ones have a sharper shape. The indicators are the same.

Would be different. You're better off putting the Fairmont bar on and making up a grill to fill the void. Even if it means copying the stock Fairmont ones or making up a BA look-alike one.

I'm sure the BA's had the void part between headlights separate from the bonnet/bar.

I know what you mean. But I'm a big fan of subtlety, the 'That looks stock, but not quite... what's different about it?' look.
