Anyone know what type of automatic transmision gearknob came in a Series 2 EF Fairmont Ghia? It has a leather interior. Was it normal or leather?

Normal or vinyl covered I think. I dont think that they ever came in leather, but I may be wrong here.

Ford did make leather auto gear knobs, there's black AU ones all over ebay and Momo ones. But I dunno what came on EF 2. |

Was leather wrapped, with chrome button, same as handbrake lever.

I just got the parcel with the handbrake lever and knob from an EF II Ghia. The handbrakes leather with chrome button, but the knobs identical to the stock one with black button.
"yeah its different from the standard ones. " is what the seller said. Now surely somethign's gone wrong here? As I doubt Ford sold the car with different materials and button colours on tehm I'm not too happy. |

the ghia's definately came with a chrome button - s1 was vinyl covered while s2 was leather. If you have one with a black button from a ghia then that is not original.

Yeah that's what I thought. Disapointed, as now I've got a leather and chrome handbrake lever and normal shifter. Looks like I'll have to go with Dellboy and fit the BA sequantial in. |
