Over the last couple of days my oil pres gauge has been playing up, never going any lower than normal but a couple of times it's been buried well into the red at the top end of the gauge. Nothing else seems to be different while it's doing this so I've got no idea.
Experiences and opinions welcome.

My EF is doing the same thing, gauge is reading higher than normal when the car is at that not-yet-warm but past-cold stage, normally it settles itself but twice now its shot right up to the red and I've freaked out and pulled over, but it isn't sounding/performing different, leave it for a few minutes, start it again and it's fine. How hard is it to replace the sender and how expensive are they? As long as I don't actually have astronomical oil pressure I suppose it's okay but I'd rather sort it.

Earths arent 100% or the senders dead. Mine read very low when my earths were a little loose.

Yeah ive got the same problem mine was sitting on 7 in the red for 2days straight just being stupid.
Other car had no oil pressure cuz the pump was rooted now this new car has high oil pressure lol. Did and oil change & filter change about 5,000k ago. im guessing maybe the sender like u all are saying?.. |

@ $50 a sender, just change it and put your dash into diagnostics to check its getting decent pressure, check it along side a mechanical gauge if you have the option.
