Hi Guys,

Have 2003 BA Futura that has started to rough idle and ping/coughing when accelerating. So far have replaced the battery (old one had a bad cell) and changed the fuel filter (looked like it had never been changed). This has made performance slightly better, but still an issue.

What can anyone suggest next? Spark plugs maybe? Car has 166000 on the clock.

check spark plugs, replace them and replace coils as well. if the spark plugs and coils have never been changed.. i can almost guarantee you that these are you problems, you can get a whole 6 set of NGK spark plugs online for $60 and genuine 6 packs of coils online for $170 going to ford will cost you an arm and leg

Thanks for the advice. Replaced the spark plugs and coils and is still running a little rough. There has been some improvement though.
Any other ideas? I was thinking maybe the oxygen sensors perhaps?

have you tryed cleaning the throttle body, and check the total air induct system
