Hi guy's,

See what you can help with this one.

When I bought my new EL fairmont not a Ghia as my wife didn't want leather seats. So I bought the Fairmont and saved a few dollars.
I ordered the "Premium sound system which I had some trouble getting as it only came in the Ghia, so they said. Anyway about 6 to 7 years ago I had it knocked off out of my can and only want to up date my Fairmont and always looking for a premium sound system to put back in. As they knocked off the plugs as well I had put in a Sony system but not a patch on the P/sound system.
Two weeks ago I was able to buy a P/System for my Fairmont and buy a s/hand radio plug to fit. Because I have the Ford CD stacker and the P/Sound as the plug for the CD stacker as well. But I find that the two back speakers are not working. because I have no idea what other plug would be used to get the back speakers to work. The P/Sound system had two items that is one is the radio cassette player and the other is the CD player.
Does any one know if the P/Sound system plug is different from the Mid series sound system.
plug. as there is no where the other plug on the wire harness that i bought for the system for the other back speakers to work.
So is there a different Plug used??
Regards
John

In a premium sound system the back speakers are hooked up to the factory amplifier, located in the boot. i can only assume you have not done this.

Hi Andrew,

That's my trouble when the Fairmont was broken into all my sound system was taken even the AMP.
The insurance company would not replace the same system. So I told them to go jump.
They ripped the back wires out, so when i put in a Sony, well the radio guy put it in as he had to find all the right wires.
Funny I do remember the dam AMP now, I'm trying to think how it went. There must be one other cable that plugs into that other plug and goes back to the AMP and speakers and Subwoofer also.
Gee thanks Andrew!! See my age is catching up with me Ha.
No thanks again Andrew.
Regards
John
