Compound interest.. Floating rates... Shares vs Bank rates... For crissakes boys, IT'S A CHEAP F'ING EL IN GREAT KNICK WITH ZERO K'S. You ain't that serious about capitalism are you?

I know of many a Falcon 500 EX owner who wishes they'd never traded it in on a Mitsi / Nissan or what have you. Sure, a few more EL's may have been made than 500's, but it is a similar situation. Everyone thought their old Falcon was done and dusted once they didn't need it for taking three kids and the dog to the beach and city streets got busy. There's a farmers field full of them someplace... Or they've simply rusted away to nothing.

How many EL's are immaculate and clean? 1%? Maybe even 2%. Compound that.

Whatever. I'm off to trade some futures and ride the commodity market some. I hear petrol is going up quicker than EL's. May just have to buy a f**k of 98 and sell it in a week. I reckon that's pay for ten EL's.

Just do what a petrol thief did...drive into a petrol station with a 20K L petrol tanker and took petrol out of the underground silo and drove off...noone asked anything since they thought he was filling up the tank. Haven't heard from them again. 20000 @ 1.40 PULP...$28K right there.

 aint that the truth, second time round maybe?

This idea interested me a bit actually keeping even my XR6 in stock condition and not triving it much at all then seeing what its worth in 20 years. But the more i thnk about it the less i think its gunna be worth. I guess its just an el gli nothin special. EB/ELGT maybe TS50 or boss335GT in same nick, would be diffrent story though...

keep it clean and original like the other guys have said. who cares if its not worth a million dollars in ten years, its certainly one worth keeping under a cotton cover in the shed and driven once a week/month.

Unless it is towing a massive tanker full of petrol chances are you'll be better off investing in some Aussie mining company, for sure.

Still everyone is talking about money. If you want / need / have money then an EL is probably not a meal ticket. That's not the point. The point is you'll be able to go to ALL FORD DAYS in about twenty years and win BEST POVERTY PACK EL.

i had an opportunity to buy a 30,000Klm povpack XE as my first car, it had the unfortunate combination of poo gold exterior and poo tan/brown interior so i kept looking.

if you like e series falcons its probably a nice car to drive around (not having 200,000klms plus on the clock) but like others have said as an investment its a terribly performing one, so drive it and keep it stock and maybe in a few years when its got 60,000klms you can sell it for the same money you paid for it

looks exactly like my car when i got mine (had 63000k on it) realisticly, i still got stung on price as the car was in great order & the other option was buy a newer car with more k's that wasnt as nice.

just keep it as a reliable nice older car with low k's you get stuff done around town in

Ask this guy about what value could be in a couple of years

yeah, but he ruined it with

"I have made some minor improvements such as..."

I'd offer him 5 for that one
