some cars look good with them all removed they are held on with double sided tape, to remove the double sided tape i used wd40 to losen the glue or wax and grease remover, sometimes wd40 works better than wax and grease remover my car is white and i removed the fairmont strips i think the fordmods gallery have some pics of it in there ill post the link here

i dont have any pics sorry, but on my EF XR8, they all turned pink so had them sprayed in body colour (gun barrel grey) and had some lightning strike colour stripes added along the lower section of the car. looked beast.

On my EL I had the stuck on with Urethane and double sided tape. Double sided table top and bottom with a generous bead of urethane in the middle.
The double sided tape is there to hold them in place while the urethane goes off. In later years when the double side tape fails the urethane still holds them on.

This was a tip from a panel beater

I have a falcon futura classic with the black and red stripe through it. Im thinking on respraying it white and adding a grew/silver strip. Would i be best off removing it from the door and put it back on or just place BULK tape and paper around it ??? I would probs have to sand it first right?

Do it properly. Remove them from the car. Overspray is a b**ch and so is masking up doors.
