As the title says, my clutch pedal a started to twist to the left, and along with the gear shift difficultys I can see the cracked and bent area.

I first heard of this issue on the site here when searching for the cracked firewall solutions.
Falcons don't like heavy duty clutches it seems.

Anyway, I'm looking into my repair options, and removal seems inevitable, so I'm wondering if I should.

A. Buy a auto pedal box and make it a manual as per the thread here.

B. Buy another manual one and bolt that straight back in.

Or

C. Weld, plate or otherwise repair the box I have.

I have a feeling putting the work into my current one will combine idea A without the buying of another box. B is really pointless cos I'll be doing this again in 3 years time...

SO!

Does anyone have info (PHOTOS!!!) on repairing the box? Any ideas on how ford went about fixing them or did they replace them?

i did mine last year, lined it back straight, welded it up then got a piece of 16mm square bar along the length of the inside of the pedal box making it unable to bend

Dash must come out to get the pedal box out. I took it to a place they did it for 400 bucks, welded it really strong its been about a year and a half and its still good.

Yeah, I've done it once when I converted to manual,

I'd love to have a spare $400 to do anything to the car with LOL, family and bills chews most of the budget.

I'm aiming at the whole job for less than $100.

Also, for anyones interest, I'll be doing a doco on my build thread about the whole job... Be sure to check it out..
