(Ford Falcon EF GLi 1995) hey guys, A really strange thing happend to me this morning, i was driving home and all of a sudden the car like switches off while driving. All the lights light up on the dash as if its in the on position. i manage to pull over and go to start the car again and i cant hear the fuel pump at all(just had a brand new one installed last week and was working fine) I try to start it and the car just shakes violently and wont turn over.. 5 or so minutes later the car starts fine like nothing happend. And this has happend TWICE TODAY!!!.
Any and all feedback is greatly appreatiated as for i have spent hundreds of $$$ on it the past month cause everything in the world keeps screwing up on it.. thanks guys

i had a fuel pump replaced on my car a while back and 2 weeks later the new one s**t itself 2. So it could possibly be the fuel pump again mate, but the pump itself isnt prob faulty it happens when the excess dirt sand and other nasties arent cleaned out properly of where the fuel pump is installed, so when the new one is put in the dirt etc clog up the new pump. Possibly the problem thats just me going by my experiences mate, does the car struggle and run rough after it does start?

treat it like a dodgy startamotor , if it stalls again and wont start then thump the area over the fuel pump to see if it starts workin again.

+1 to thumping the fuel pump cover, but have a look how dirty it is as well the thump is a temporary fix until the pump is fully clogged

Ill have to take the mechanic for a drive in it so when it conks out again he can actually see whats going on while its not working.

Replace the green fuel pump relay under the coolant reservoir tank first. Or atleast check the terminals for corrosion.

if not the relays, it could possibly be fuel lines. A mechanics once over and the symptoms that uve sed he should surely be able to work it out. goodluck man
