Has anyone got any advice re tarting-up the exterior of my BA XR6T? No new paint wanted and nothing outlandish or hoonish, please. Its colour is Acid Rush and it currently has no decals at all. I feel it needs a stripe or two - but where and what colour? Any sensible and reasonably priced suggestions (or photos) welcome.

i have seen quite alot of XR6's with the black stripes on them (around the bottom of car, start behind the fog lights and run along the door above the side skirts and then finish on the rear bar on the side without going around the back from factory). Seems to be the standard that works well with the car??

Thanks, Phil, for the prompt reply.

I don't suppose you can direct me to any photos?

sure mate - google is your friend!! I know its not your colour (you got the goldish colour right) but there isnt many in that colour up, at least the stripe is black.

There are a few different designs looking at them, like 2 or 3 stripes etc and different thicknesses

What about

- spoiler removal
- Dark tint
- Bigger wheels
- BF Tail lights
- different grille meshing

Nothing too hoonish, but some subtle changes will look nice.

Are you serious? Im hoping for some sarcasm... but if not, im not talkin 20inch chrome deep dish wheels or chrome in your face meshing. Dark tint always looks nice, the 19inch wheels on my G6ET (for example) hardly scream Hoon. You can do bigger and nicer without screaming hoon.

But stripes are definitely not your friend..... yuck

I think a nice set of factory 18's, and whilst not to everyones taste (or definition of originality, much like stripes I guess) an XR8 bonnet and decals look great.

The mesh grills look good and the BF tail lights look a bit nicer as well.

Thank you, guys, for all your interesting suggestions and pix. I hope I didn't start a Fordmods feud. Each to his own, eh?

I'll probably keep it simple and safe 8-) - and go for some dark green side stripes. Any more than that and the missus might want a divorce. :x

PS - By the way, in case you didn't know, 'Acid Rush' is a golden yellow-green colour (now discontinued by Ford) - similar to the colour of this face - 8-) Like it or not, it sure stands out in a crowd.
