as said, guys I work with mentioned that the dizzy should almost be spring loaded & return. taking my cap off a while ago I noticed play of 10deg or so, but no springy-ness to speak of.

Should have zero play in a E series, the shaft/gear/rotor fit together as a solid unit, there is no 'springyness' to be had.

yep, drives like its a bit worn too. going to wait for the gasket to go one day & tear the lot down i've decided (dizzy was new 3-4 years ago, got at feeling the aux has spat the dummy)

without taking the lot apart again i couldnt say but it sounded like it was metalic & deaper in the engine (almost like the shaft was floating)
