Hi Guys,

Straight to the point, what is a good exhaust setup for a NA BA XR6 2003.

Price no problem.

I want to know a good legal system with a nice note.

If anyone can recommend an exhaust shop in Brisbane that would be good too, as I have not been here that long. If anyone has dealt with a good shop please let me know.

Thanks :D

If price is no problem, I can't fault Di Filippo.
SS extracters and cat then mild steel or SS cat back add another $500+ for SS cat back tho.
Sounds awesome and no drone.
Cost me about $1700 with tip and fitting.

Make sure you go the full system with a nice set of extractors, straight pipe, high flow 100cpi? cat, and a mean quad cat-back for an almost but not quite there V8 rumble . I'd suggest keeping a couple of mufflers so that it won't drone and have a nice rumble on the low rev but really bark on WOT.

thanks guys,

I have heard good things for Di Filippo.

Are you just running 2.5"? Is 3" too much of an overkill on 6 cylinders?

I know someone who had a 3" exhaust and it sounds... well.. s**t.

Not sure what brand they had

Stick with a 2.5", you can't go wrong unless your trying to make a 10 second car lol.
My cat-back is an Australian Pacific which is identical to a Redback and I can't complain. Has a nice deep note to it when accelerating but just a quite rumble when idling. Once I get my extractors I might remove my front muffler if I think it's too quite (but doubt it).

Are you just running mild steel?

I cant justify getting stainless.. Unless someone can change my mind?

Stainless steel does sound better and is lighter than mild steel but you'll be forking out a lot more money for it. Personally I don't think stainless steel is worth getting unless your chasing numbers. Once the exhaust carbons and if you get a nice setup mild steel sounds great.

Go on Youtube and have a look--There's heaps of BA Falcons with exhausts fitted. X_Force are the best systems.......

Mild steel 2.5" it is. Has anyone got a dual exhaust setup on their 6, similar to a lot of xr8 drivers do? I'm sure there would be quite a bend going around the spare tyre underneath? Worth the cost/end result?

I have had redback and mercury systems on my e-series then went to a AU live Axel X_Force 2.5in Mandrel Bent high flow 2 muffler system. It is way better than the others with a really good note and no DRONE. Maybe the DOHC motor is different but all the youtube vids I have looked at, X-Force are miles ahead..

i know someone else has already said it, but seriously go on youtube and listen to different set ups, this will give you a rough idea on what each set up will sound like
