I have an 03 AU Xr6 SeriesIII thats done 310,000 km's.
I'm thinking of putting it on gas as im sick of paying petrol costs. Anything i should be concerned about? Most people seem to say don't bother because you will never make your money back but i plan on keeping the car for many years to come because mechanically its excellent. Will i need to keep anything else in mind when doing this to a car thats done so many kms? cheers

Well first things first: Make sure the mechanics are in TIP-TOP condition before you start. You'll need, as a minimum: a full set of Bosch double-platinum spark plugs gapped to 0.8mm, a full set of heavy-duty leads, new oxygen sensor, and a basic oil service. Remember that LPG will probably reduce the lifespan of your ignition components by a third to a half.
Secondly, it is worth doing your homework in relation to gas fitters and the system that they use. Go speak to several installers and compare costs. Go visit some workshops to see some of the installer's output. Be confident that you'[re handing over money for good quality parts and workmanship. With today's $1500 rebate, a good quality GENUINE IMPCO system with lean bias procesor should set you back $1700 out of your own pocket. Alternatively, an Emer gas injection system should set you back around $500 more than the IMPCO system and will over you some significant advantages over the low-tech IMPCO system. With normal mileage (i.e. 15,000-20,000km per annum), you should get your money back in fuel savings over 2-3 years.

Can you recommend any installers around victoria? mornington peninsula way?
also what do you think of an L.G system one place told me there better than impco. Is this true?

I've never heard that LG are making LPG systems.
Chances are, if I've never heard of it, it probably won't be very good. IMPCO systems are tr4ied and tested. They hold their tune for a long time and reduce the power loss associated with the conversion. I wouldn't accept anything less than a Genuine IMPCO system if you're after an air-valve system.

here are the lg mob
http://www.lgmotorgas.com.au/ I have been quoted $2800 for an lg setup and $2500 for an impco. The closest impco installer is somerville automotive in victoria. Not sure if there any good though. Also should i be asking for a particular backfire setup to save my air box in the event of a backfire. your thoughts?

So they are charging you extra for the knock off version. I'd be getting the real impco gear fitted for the $2500. With the rebate you're only $1000 out of pocket.

Stupid (due to plastic manifold) and possibly illegal (emissions certification). Run as far away as you can and get yourself a GENUINE IMPCO system and insist on a LEAN BIAS processor for the best performance, economy and durability.

Can you please explain why i should ask for LEAN BIAS processor ?
What are the pros and cons? If i dont ask for that how else will they do it?
