ok ive seen a couple of b series falcons on here with a silver upper and lower grill mesh, i reckon it looks pretty good, so im trying to chase em down, where are they available and if not how are you guys making them??, i made a lower black grill for mine it looks good but doesn't look anywhere near as good as the ones on the net that ive seen.
ive tried ebay with no results, don't know if im looking in the wrong area or their just not up. also a price would be awesome. thanks

you got any pics mate? mine was actually silver mesh but i got my panel beater to paint it black as i reckon it looks much better and close to stock (look i was going for) only problem is i am forever touching it up as the paint flakes off quite easily
here is my mesh before it was painted

yer thats what im after, was yours pre cut or did you cut it yourself, the cars a silver xr6 so i think it should look pretty good. i just want something different without looking stupid

upper mesh bar u can get off ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-BA-BF-F6-typ ... 4aa908a30a in my opinion that price really isnt worth it though. u can do a cheapass job and just buy some chrome mesh and cut it to shape and stick it right over the original grille but prepare to be bagged if u do (in my area anyway rofl) only lower mesh bar i could find: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-BA-BF-GT-GTP ... 984wt_1139 but its an fpv and price is kind of outrages. if u cut the mesh for yourself on the bottom and get a couple of pegs it should look fine if u do it carefully. Considered taking out the grille, tapping up the ford badge and hitting the mesh with some spray paint? i think itll turn out pretty good. if u do it make sure u show me how it turns out

hey Jova, thats exactly what i did, my mesh is black as i didnt like the silver.
Winman - no mine was pre cut and came together like that when ordered the front bar. My panel beater would have taken it off to paint it though but it just clips back on. Talk to SSV - they may just sell the mesh to you??

The FPV mesh pieces are a different size to XR's. As the bumbers are a different shape. They won't swap over. I remember a while back, there was heaps of sellers selling cut to fit XR mesh inserts. I assume they're still around.

i might keep and eye on ebay, i found a previous (expired listing) that had both for 120, thats much better then an overpriced 250 for one

There are plenty of pics in my build thread of it all complete. I dont think my panel beater used spray can paint as he acid etched it before so the paint would bite into the metal.

Lol sigh why does it always take so much effort to have to do something? I was hoping I could just pull the grill off and hit it with the shiniest paint I could find  . If I did do that how do you think it would last? How long does yours last before you have to respray it?

the lower one doesnt last long at all, i usually just colour it in with permanent marker, the upper grille is fine, not many at all

:O!! thats f**k smart rofl. silver permanent marker... who would have thought xD. is there somewhere u can buy the lower grille that isnt off ebay? from ford or even herrod?

yeah i use a black one but same s**t, you could try ssv or one of those guys that replicate the bodykits in fibre glass, they should surely have the grill you need, its only some mesh after all
