oil feed coming from a t-piece where the oil pressure switch is and the oil return straight down into the sump

Doesnt there need to be a vac line to the wastegate?

not normaly,
only a pressure line from the turbo outlet to the wastegate or depending on what type of wastegate it can also be connected the manifold.. |

What would the barb fitting on the throttle body side be for?

couldnt tell without a pic..
mine has 2 but only one is connected.. what type of waste gate is it, internal, external?? some have 2 barbs, 1 either side of the diaphragm, you usually only need to use 1, but i beleive the 2nd one is used if the car has a factory boost controler incorperated into the ecu like ba turbo? |

you need a vacuum/pressure line to the wastegate.
typically the side port (assuming it has 2) This can be from anywhere between the turbo and head. some people run iff the compressor housing with a barb fitting, others run it from the intake manifold. without it the turbo would have spun its guts out. I wouldn't have expected it to do what it did, it sounds to me that it was already borderline stuffed, or something went into the compressor.

That's the answer I wanted, I thought it would have spun itself to pieces, so the barb on the intake side of the intercooler can be used as a vac line to the gate?

it doesnt have to be a vacuum line as the waste gate opens with boost pressure not vacuum, but you can connect it anywhere on the pipework after the turbo, eg, turbo outlet, manifold vacuum ports ect... as under boost there is no vacuum so your vacuum ports become a boost reference line...
although i have heard that some external wastgates can fail if the receive vacuum when off boost, i assume thats the reason why most run it off the turbo outlet??? |

Google Precision SC61 turbo.. never said there werent T3/T4 hybrids. GT3582Rs as fitted to BA-FG are a T3/T4 hybrid, in that they have a T3 rear from a GT35 and the front from a GT4082 which has a T4 rear. but you cannot have "T4 internals in a T3" thats all |
