Hi all,
I have an au engine built for turboing but its running N/A atm and i want to know what the timing should be roughly for a straight gas 4ltr au engine. It is running an atomic stg 3 cam. Can you tell me what they like as static timing and what they like to advance to (rough idea would be great). I am putting an msd 6al-2 proggrammable on it tonight to control the timing as it is running a locked dizzy set at 10deg all the time. It is running a mixer system too.

Cheers all.

with bugger all compression and a bit of cam, set it at about 20degrees and leave it locked.
You might want to add a few degrees at about 2500rpm and total it at about 25 all in by 3000rpm.

With out knowing exactly what you've got and not being able to drive it that about the best anyone can tell you.
