What does the auto TX fuse relate to in the fusebox of my EB Fairmont. It hasnt got one in it at the moment but has both pins and one of them has power. What will happen if I put the correct fuse in???

Would be used to run the trans computer if you had an EB1 or a V8.
If you have neither, then putting a fuse in would do nothing. |

Odd, because I chcucked the fuse in and it is noticeabley smoother on all shifts... and its an EB2 with a six pot.

I thought it was only used in auto car's, no matter if you have a separate or inbuilt auto controller?
Must say that I have not removed mine & checked for power in the Ghia since I converted to manual. Could be a good circuit to grab some power from for a little project I have in mind, now I don't have an auto anymore. Cheers ToranaGuy

Just rechecked the EA to ED wiring manuals, and its definitely used as the ignition sense in EA2/EB1 I6's for the trans computer or for all V8's. In all other models its just an empty circuit as the trans brain is integrated into the engine ECU. EF/EL I6's its used to power the fan relays in the engine bay. |
