You'd have to ask powerbond if they supply with encoder wheel attached. I would say yes because they are a powdered metal wheel and would be quite difficult to get on an off without damage. In that case they may have put it on on in the wrong place? From memory the missing tooth(signature PIP) should be exactly 50degrees from the keyway(TDC).
You could make an adjustable CKP sensor mount which would make for an easy fix but it's a fairly tricky thing to make also. Maybe have look for 5.0 Explorer adjustable timing mounts in the U.S. Pretty sure they used to sell such things in the late 90's. |

well ford had the HB off and I checked it out.
According to the Ford service manual for a V8 the BTDC tooth slot is to be at 90 degress. the one I had was at 30 degress?? Is this just a powerbond thing. if this was the case timing would be WAY out and probably wouldn't run, right? It still runs OK just has that annoying flat spot around 2500 - 3500rpm. I will ring powerbond on monday and ask them. |

Yes, the encoder wheel is attached as part of the assy. |

Nope that's the one for an E-series we made. But it's designed to work with the AU setup.
