on BA its not an ipod interface cord...
it simply plugs into the head phone jack... Unlike the FG that interfaces with it and allows you to control it from the head unit, the BA simply works like a set of head phones... Song changing will be still done via ipod... Think its under the dash somewhere... Someone else may be more specific though... Cheers, Tim

Ford sell the ipod/phone kit. It is plug and play, instal yourself. Sadly as TimmyA said, the music comes from the ear-piece socket.

The plug for it is behind the fuse box. The kit can be bought from either ford or ebay.
If you can, buy the amplified version

I just installed the boosted version in my car (BAF 289455 BA). It works very well.
If you have a choice, get the boosted (amplified version). The unamplified version requires you to turn the volume quite high, which can result in it picking up an alternator whine (apparently). Also if you do that and switch over to FM/CD (without turning the volume down), you'll get a loud shock There's two amplified MP3 connections cords. The 'genuine' ford one and then one made by ASL. I got the ford one because it was ~$20 cheaper. The ASL one does have volume adjustment I think. Interestingly with the ford kit when the ignition is off (and thus amplifier off) you can still play through to the stereo. Its just quieter. |
