go to the wreckers and buy second hand airbag(s) and crash sensors.
Re-install and away you go, its a 15yo car.

oh ok mate thats good news, is there a certain way to install it properly so the airbag actually goes off in another smash, or when it is plugged in does the car recognise that and programme it itself?
thanks for the help |

You have to identify exactly what happened in the crash.
There is 2 frontal sensors, One beside the bonnet catch and one inside the firewall. My bet is the front sensor has activated and set the airbag off. If the car sustained large vibrations, ie: tailshaft broke, you'll require to replace the internal sensor too. If you know exactly why and how a certain sensor was damaged, then replace it, and throw in a new(s/h) airbag. Unplug the battery, replace sensors, with any luck the airbag fault code my have cleared itself. Read: documents.php?d=3 it explains everything and you'll may need to erase the memory.

thanks a lot for that mate, yeah id think that it would just be the frontal sensor, as my mate went up the a** of a 4WD and it was pretty much the front end that was damaged but no damage to the motor or anything further in than that. What does the sensor look like is it located near the horn?
thanks agen |
