Thanks XR9UTE,
The IAC valve? Is that the cylinderical looking thing on the side of the TB. I did disconnected the TPS when doing it. I checked the spring and all OK. |

{USERNAME} wrote: well I had a crack at setting TPS voltage and Idle. I have set my idle to where I want (950rpm - got a cam) and then set the TPS to 0.98v. However, if I blip the throttle the idle runs on. What would be the cause of this? cheers by run on I mean it settles down after about 2-3 seconds. |

...also forgot to mention, did a T56 conversion from auto, and kept same ECU.

You need to disconnect your IAC/ISC valve when setting your idle. Last edited by XR9UTE on Mon Mar 14, 2011 6:45 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

thanks mate, but BPT who did the conversion would have done it.
I think They stuffed up the whole job, so wouldn't surprise me. do you work for a tuning shop? |

Give Barry a call and get him to sort it.
I do some part time stuff mainly for my mates these days as I simply don't have the time. |

well I had a go at adjusting idle with ISC valve disconnected. Didn't do anything - still has that 2-3 secs idle run on. It runs on to about 1200rpm, from a set 950rpm.
I might try a clean of the ISC. Also, when BPT did the conversion, they installed a seimans ratio box. My speedo failed on the weekend (I tell ya this car is jinxed) and i checked out this box, and the wiring job looks like it was done by a 10 year old I fixed it up best I could, but the speedo still doesn't work. Would this affect idling in anyway? cheers |
