Hey everyone, I've had this problem for a while in my AU and it got worse today. I took the rubbers OUT of the doors and cleaned them all up, there was a lot of s**t in there because I used lithium grease once as a last resort, which was stupid. For a while, everything worked as long as I used WD40 in the window often.
Sometimes on the way up, the window gets stuck and I have to help it with my hand. It got that bad today that it got stuck right down the bottom (kfc drive through) lol, and I had to take to door card off to give it a helping hand. Since cleaning the door rubbers, it STILL gets stuck. I've attached a video that shows what it's doing. I'm stumped because the rubbers are clean as a whistle now, and they should run great...? Here's the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwnEhdoLNhQ Taken with my iphone, so the quality isn't the best but it's not bad.

The regulator itself may have gone dry where the arms cross over each other. Try to get some silicone lube in there and around where the gear makes contact with the teeth on the Reg.

I guess there's a big sprocket in there, and there's a little motor thing that has a pinion on the end of it that spins the big sprocket? Is this the regulator? Thanks for the replies guys.

Sorry, yes the regulator is that vertical thing that makes the window go up and down.
I gave you a bum steer too, I was thinking of an older model. Your regulator is just a curved piece that a runner goes up and down on, the cable might be dry and maybe the runner is dry as well, the runner uses zinc grease and maybe it has dried out or the cable has stretched. You might be looking at replacing the regulator and motor? The pic at the bottom right is what your regulator looks like. Attachment: Reg1.JPG I have made a doc for you to follow for replacing the door reg if needed, it is for a BA door but basically they are the same. Attachment: Front Door Window Regulator.doc

The window itself could be out of alignment. I remember loosening the 2 bolts that hold the window to the bracket to the motor. Have the window closed, motor it up till to confirm it's closed then do it up. Try doing that or playing around with the idea and you may find it will improve.
Other than that, if it still refuses to go up, I would try to pull ALL the rubbers out and see if the motor will go up and down on it's own without any restriction caused by the rubbers. If it doesn't, then it's the motor. If it does, then it could be the alignment if you haven't already tried that, or the motor may be worn and need replacing.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I appreciate it. I'll give the lubes a go first, see if the regulator needs a bit of TLC. If it doesn't work then I'll just keep it shut. Don't have the cash right now to replace bits.
I can't see how the motor would be ruined if it goes up and only gets stuck at 3 intervals?
