i need to replace my transmission its auto 4 speed. Im going to be putting my fully reco and recently serviced eb tranmission into my 97 el fairmont. would the car be able to run since im running el motor and eb transmission but wont the ecu flip out and get confused since its eb transmision and a EL motor then again they're both 4 speed so im not 100% sure..?

it'll be fine. just EL's don't have a dipstick. EB does.

just unplug your auto plugs and change the auto. they should just plug in the same

Yep, as WILDEB said, it will work just fine.

Have assisted with the same swap before and the box and car are going great still.

is the motor rooted? why you pulling it out?

my eb got sideswiped so im sellin stuff off it..gotta sell the motor anyways so might aswell take it out. stupid holden drivers..they just cant avoid hitting things :lol:

well i put an el trans in the ea , can't see why it wouldn't work in reverse...
