hey guys, my car had a hidden suprise, a f**k stupid gay viper alarm system from qho knows when, tucked up under the dash, i recently chsnged it to a manual pedal box, and could not start it.
I have a smashed up EF fairmont here, and i was thinking i could just replace the loom and bcm.
Is it possible to fit the ef fairmont loom and bcm into my EL gli wagon?

Unfortunately, it is not that simple.

The EF BCM is different as you are probably aware, and as I understand it the plugs between EF dash loom and EL body loom also do not match.

Contact Huggiebear, as I do recall he may have done this with a simple plug swap.

Cheers

well in that case, do you think that a el fairmont loom would fit into the el?

Yes, it would, and if you also source the high spec body/floor loom, you can add in electric windows as well.

So what will i need to change?
Loom and bcm?
What extras will this add to the car?

The usual Fairmont features.

In fact, now that I think of it you will HAVE to add in the trip comp, climate control parts etc as well, and as yours is a wagon, you will probably need to source a wagon loom as it will have the rear wiper wiring etc.

oh great. Dont really like my chances.
I would love to have climate control and all the goodies.
I have a trip computer here and i can get a climate control unit and heater box.
Is there much involved in putting the climate control stuff onto the gli heaterbox?

It is doable leaving the heater box in the car, as I have done it a couple of times now. There is a doco on the climate control conversion, so have a look.

If sourcing the climate control parts, it is important to get matching climate control module/facia and vacuum box as there are some logic changes that are impossible to tell.

Part of it perhaps.

It all depends where the alarm intercepts the wiring to cut things like the fuel pump etc. The only sure way to do it is to trace all the wires to where they meet the car wiring, analyse it and then repair any wire cuts.
