Hi
I have recently installed an au3 engine and au1 ecu in to my eb1.
I've tried heaps of scan tools and not had any sucess, even an autel us703 which only does abs and srs which i haven't installed in my car.
I have recently brought an elm327, is there any software that will read ecu fault codes and will give real time monitoring (dont mind paying good money for it).
Just want to see if my car is happy.

Thanks

You can use the elm to pull codes from an AU but I dont know of any software on the market.
Have a look at this topic and it will show you how to pull codes with an elm.

Au3 uses a different map sensor to au1.

Is the engine acting up?

Was looking at that post, have been watching very eagerly to see what muzza came up with.
my ecu seems to be quite happy with the au3 map sensor, the operating parameters of the au3 sensor seems to fit within au1 specs and the wiring diagrams are the same from au1 to au3.
The only issue i seem to be having is finding a place to mount the coil pack.
Bugger was hoping that i could buy sofware ready to go from somewhere.

The AU 1/2 TMAP curves do differ. These are straight from the BIN. Left column is in Volts and right in Hg

I think the integrated ACT temp sensor may differ also.

AU2 - 3
5.12 32.00
4.49 31.99
0.30 2.14
0.00 0.00

AU1
5.12 32.00
4.92 31.31
0.31 4.34
0.00 4.34

You got about 2Hg difference along the scale, so about 7 - 8% out of spec, The ecu can learn just learn around that.

I flashed an AU2 ECU for a customer to install in an AU1, it was a Manual and he was having problems finding the right ECU. I changed the MAP curve and disabled the smartshield and all was good. He was happy with the results.

I have a device that can do AU diagnostics, it translates commands and responses in firmware so you can do diagnostics on an AU with standard J1979 and free Software. It also can do all the logging. I hope to release it real soon.

Just thinking, you may be able to logging with TunerPro Version 5 and an ELM. It has a universal logging function where you write the commands your self. So you could do a direct memory read of the ECU and pull the values you need. I have a few address noted for AU2, not sure if AU1 is the same.

That may explain why my fuel economy may be a little heavier, i thought that it may be because i changed the diff ratio to 3.45.

Do you know if the Au1 auto ecu can be flashed to Au3 manual software, id like to keep the later model sensors as the Au1 sensors seem to go out of range all the time and bring up fault codes , id also like to get rid of fuzzy logic.

Thanks for explaining what the differences are, everyone was telling me they were different but no one could explain what was different.
