Pin 8 on the lower, 16-pin connector is the tacho input. You need to run a wire from there out to the ignition coil. im stuck on this

check near the brake booster where the diagnostic connector is there should be a pink wire with a bullet plug on the end. on most EAs its to connect a tacho too for testing.
