Hi again,

I have replaced the sump plug with a new one but still have a problem with oil leakage.

Each time I go for a drive I notice fresh engine oil on the cement floor.

I jacked the car up and checked underneath, oil seem to be coming from back of motor and going onto and dripping from the sump pan oil plug.

This oil leak has only been occuring about 4 days ago.

Would this be a rear crankshaft seal and is a bit job to replace? Or would it be a from some other source, I cannot see any other areas where oit could be from.

Any suggestions is welcome.

Cheers, Peter

check if oil is leaking from the rocker cover, head, sump seal, because it has a tendency of running back along the groove and running down the back of the engine

rear main seal ,not the funnest job, if you have an engine crane and trolley jack you will be laughin

Thanks, I shall do that.

If I can find the pics I took earlier I'll upload them but may not be the ideal photos as it was taken from the sump plug upwards (not enough room to swing a cat).

Cheers, Peter
