Why do you ask? Anyway, anyone using this FL1A filter on a BA/BF Turbo? Because the best filter known to man kind is still a waste of time if you use s**t oil. The oil you use is good oil. And clean oil is better than dirty expensive oil too! I thought these were no longer available - stuff me!

Hey Uniacidz & Papa, Can you please advise what is the color of the anti-drainback valve on these filters? I believe the "new" ones are red/orange in color (made of silicone) and not black (Nitrile rubber) as per pictures at the start of this topic. Can you guys please verify??? Thanks... |

We got the D9AZ 6731 A in today and they have a black rubber valve where as the AFL 1MC is Orange.
I am using the FL 1A in my AU and have had no issues. |

uniacidz wrote: Is there any difference really? Silicone anti-drain back valves (red/orange in color): * Help prevent oil from draining out of the filter and engine when the engine is not running * Resist the aging effects that an engine’s high heat can cause * Silicone is superior to nitrile rubber (black in color), which can become brittle over time I am led to believe these "black" ones are an older batch as Motorcraft now produce Silicone anti-drain back valves on all of their filters. I think you'll find most (if not all) filter manufacturers are going Silicone due to the fact cars are being service every 15,000km / 1 yr. They are finding this black type anti-drain back valve going brittle. I change my oil every 7,500km (around 6 months) and I believe the black type is still intact. |
