Hey fordmodders,

I'm doing a service on my mums ED Futura, and also starting the power window upgrade. Car has ABS & Cruise. Has the wiring in the center console for the power windows, so I've swapped in a power window console & switches. I have swapped over the passenger front door loom & power window mech. Went to test it.......

Got nothing. Tried a couple of door mechs on teh same wiring, all known good mechs. Nothing. Went probing with the multi-meter, and I'm none the wiser.... Plugged in the drivers door loom & window mech (without fitting to the door for a test) and it doesn't work either.

What am I missing? I've done one of these upgrades before & not had issues. The car was a ED futura, had abs & cruise. It was all just plug & play.......

Cheers

ToranaGuy

did you check the fuse panel for power at the fuse??

mine had the same issue, no power at the fuse..
i beleive there is a link behind the fuse panel that needs to be added...
i couldnt get my hands behind to get to it so i added a direct battery12v wire from the ignition wires to a fuse and used a spade terminal to supply the power to the output of the fuse panel to the windows... the advantage for me is i can use my windows without the ignition on..

ill take a pic of where i added the fuse if you like...

Hey Troyman,

Thanks for that. Greatly appreciated for the pics and reply! I did check for power at the fuse after I posted, and found there was none. I was thinking there was a circuit not connected or a plug not plugged in. Hrmmm, I will have to get some heavy wire & run the power like you have.

I tested the window mech directly from a battery, works perfect. All the other door functions work too, so this will probably be the solution.

Cheers
