in my xr6t ive got a persistant rattle in the front of my rocker cover like ontop of the fan belt sounds lliike theres something loose because the noise stays the same doesnt get any louder when the revs are higher anyone know what cood it be caused buy? appreciate some quik feed bak only just bought it. thanks guys

possibly a cam phaser or a timing gear.

Check your drive belt tensioner. My car did it yesterday after finishing a complete engine rebuild, I almost cried. Watch the tensioner does the noise happen when it moves? Remove the drive belt and see if the noise goes away.

Apparently (read about it on a workshop website so could just be money raising)
Anyway, apparently one of the guides for the timing chain is prone to failure.

this could be creating the sound but for your sake I hope not
