Hi guys,
Has anyone blocked off the EGR port on the twisted wedge heads? My TW 170's arrived today and I noticed that they have the EGR port in the space between the two bolt holes for the lower intake manifold, and also the Track Heat intake manifolds have the EGR ports. When i bought these, Summit had them listed as having NO EGR so I'm wondering how I can block off these ports in the heads? I'm running the Tickford 70mm throttle body (no egr) and no EGR gear at all in the car. Cheers. |

If it's just a method of blocking off the EGR port then you can do what I did with my lower inlet - fill it with A-B Epoxy. That stuff is harder than steel when it sets.

You can also bore the hole out, tap it and fit a plug.

Yeah, I only want to block the port. Does the Epoxy not degrade or do anything nasty after a few thousand k's? {USERNAME} wrote: You can also bore the hole out, tap it and fit a plug. I was thinking this exact method, the hole is already sizable enough and probably just needs a tap for a plug. Although what's the easiest way to keep the filings from falling down into the head? |

I had the upper manifold off last year and it was still perfect. This stuff is basically cement steel.

Back off the exhaust rocker on that port and blow it out with compressed air or do it with the heads off. |
