Hey guys, as I have now sold a few of my items.
I'm looking for some clarity in the cabin. Most probably getting kicker 6 1/2 components for fronts and 6 1/2" kickers for rears. Now the problem I'm having is kicker says they are both 6 1/2" but people say they're 6 3/4" I know it's a tiny difference but would a EL factory hole be able to accommodate these or need modification? Will be mounting tweeters on the A pillar. Cheers guys. |

Having just upgraded my audio my self
factory speaker holes are 6" ive got 6 1/2" and i had to drill the holes out further but you should be able to get 6 3/4" in but it depends on design youll have to measure the hole its self and check it against the aftermarket speakers measurements

Cheers.
Think I'm just going to get http://www.optionaudio.com.au/specs/65ST11.pdf to make it easier on myself, and another pair for the rear all on a 4 ch amp. Just had my heart set on Rockford or kicker, as I just heard my mates kicker setup. |

Rather than starting a new topic, can the speaker mesh grill be popped off or does the whole door panel need to be removed to get the the front speakers?

Oh damnit, was hoping it wasn't that.
Is it just remove all screws then lift off? |

Yep.
All screws around outside of trim, little panel above the trim, door handle by screw behind little tab in the middle, and depending on whether you have power windows or not either the window winder or two more screws behind the tabs in the arm rest. Then just lift up and off removing the top of the door trim out of the slot. And for the drivers side there is also the electric mirrors switch to pull out and unclip the loom and the door lock which you have to lift the door trim off the door first then it should unscrew when its clear from the trim. Doesnt take very long. |

I spaced mine out a bit so it didnt foul on the glass when wound down.
Mine were pretty deep I think. But then you may have problems with it hitting the door trim. I had to grind the hole on the trim behind the speaker grill bigger because they were 6 1/2" speakers |

just install the fronts with the window down. then you know if it will hit.
Also dont break the plastic rod that pushes the lock button up and down. they dont like to flex muxh

These fit straight into the original holes in my rear parcel shelf. Trying to find the model number, I think they were the Coax DS-series..
