ok this sounds like a dumb question but running iridium plugs is better than standard plug.i only ask this coz i,ve been told by capa to run a standard plug but i bought the car with the blower and it had iridiums in it
also got told to gap the standard plug to 1.0mm where as the iridium is 0.8mm i,m wondering if this could be the cause of some very minor probs i,m having....i.e pinging at wot, and a delay of acceleration from rolling at say 60kmh followed by a large puff of black smoke then swinging up the street

if anyone has ideas or similar experience with a charger i,m all ears

i had iridiums with a supercharger, iridiums are better in the sense that the can last up to 80'000-100'000kms..
with boost its better to have a slightly smaller gap so .8mm is about right for boost..

heat range could cause pinging, so can a poor tune...

If you run a larger plug gap without an improvement in your ignition system and run a blower you will most likely blow the spark out. Usually you would close the gap up from std with a stock ignition system. BPT used to sell a device called Plasma Booster which will multispark your stock coils and increase spark energy at higher load/rpm and allow you to run a larger gap.
The black smoke is unburnt fuel which will of course happen when the spark is blown out. It stands to reason it's happening when you're already moving because a centrifugal won't have much boost off idle.

i thought it might be blowing out the spark.....wont listen to capa anymore
i'll get a new set of iridiums for the weekend and hopefully that will fix her up
