The other way cam specs are described (and this way will make more sense to older people / yanks) is X degrees at max lift...
I6 cam specs seem to be generally listed as X thou at DTC tho.. Even when reading from the roller or top of the rocker arm near bleed hole you need to allow for lash adjusted leakdown and take the reading from a "rolling start" - ie. be turning the crank from 90 or more degrees earlier.

Yeah I know, as I stated earlier I am just a TA and have never claimed to be a mechanic. I have not had any experience with timing gear and Im just trying to gather and learn as much as I can then hand it to a tuner. (also previously stated) @dc_todd.. thank you. that confirms what tickford 6 said so i now know some basic info to give the tuner. Are you still in contact with jaysen? i know hes not really online anymore but im hoping he might be able to supply a spec sheet. Thanks Again to everyone who has replied! I appreciate the help! |
