Ok this has been a huge headache
I have an EF and i came across an EL LSD for $200 and jumped on it Nothing i have come across suggested that it would not fit in fine The installation went fine until we got to the multiple upper control arm mounts I fit the control arms to the rear mounting points otherwise the pinion angle was terrible Then the standard control arms fouled on the axles, so i bought some EL ones with the cutout. Now I have a terrible thudding sound from the rear any time i lose traction even slightly. *not that that is a regular occurrence i might add but it shows that something isnt right Ive checked and every single bolt in the rear is done up to the correct torque. Ive spent hours looking for something and Im still coming up blank Anyone have any ideas?? If not im just going to have to bite the bullet and take it to a shop to get checked out Cheers Adam

Bushes could be shot, sounds like the tail shaft is hitting the tunnel. Happened on my EA when the bushes were going.

Nah its definately not tge tailshaft. could worn bushes in the control arms be the causebecause that was one of my suspicions. It wasnt doing it before the control arm change. Sry if made any mistakes lol trying to type off my phone and it wont let me see what im writing for some reason

worn bushes will cause axle tramp everytime.
Does it still do it if you spin through about 40 or 59 km/h? I had this issue before I did bushes in mine, every e series I've had that tramped was bushes.

I fitted the 3.45 LSD from an EL Tickford Fairmont to my EF GLi, I just left the EL's control arms attatched to the diff, and I had ZERO issues with it, the diff bolted straight in as easy as the old one came out, and worked perfectly afterwards.

Im going to get some new bushes and see if that fixes it Adam
