could also be rack ends or steering rack related, there is more than just bushes that can wear that needs to be looked at.

getting the wheels balanced tomorrow. i had the car checked a couple of months ago and was told there is usual wear for a car with 200,000kms and the right lower ball joint was shot. i havnt done the ball joint yet so it is on the long list of crap todo. Tyre wear is even so i dont think it is an alignment issue. The problem has also gotten worse since my trip from qld to tas. I am driving back to qld on thurs and not keen for a wheel that feels like a vibrator for 2000kms...

Could also be tyre tread separation issue too.......some of the coastal roads are crap from all the rain.

update for future searches:
i got two new tyres yesterday, rotating current front to back, and putting the new ones on the front. Has cleared up 95% of the wheel wobble, so the old front tyres must have been out of shape. If you have this problem, try rotating your tyres. Remaining wobble (very small amount) must be due to worn suspension components. At least its not like holding a steering wheel shaped vibrator anymore. |
