Thanks again guys!
I will go over tonight and see about giving it a hit, but how exactly do i do this, isnt it a internal pump? i dont know anything about the fuelpumps on Falcons, but i have had this feeling this has been a long time coming.. at part throttle uptill 3k rpm it surges and pauses all the time, its not smooth at all, its had injectors done not long ago.. so maybe this is a bressing in disguise, but its a pain in the a**. When it did struggle to go i put the foot down then i realised i was out of fuel, so maybe thats how i shagged the pump, pretty sure i cant hear it prime either..

the pump is internal found on the left of the tank if you kick it under there a few times it may work for a little while, if you cant hear it prime its not working, if i were you id check if the pump is getting power before you replace the pump because i replaced my pump only to find it wasnt working because the relay was buggered, and if thats the case it cost me $40 for a new one and its the green one under the header tank if its a EF/EL falc

i ran outa fuel in my Ef the other day, once i put some more in i would not start, i primed it for about 6 or 7 shots ( turn key to on but dont start, turn on rinse and pepeat ) then it fired up but i will say it would of damaged my pump as u can hear it really loud now

But its that they are new plugs. Ok ill give that a shot tonight, so just turn the key to ignition 5+ times then try... thats even if the fuel pump is still turning on, i was at the back of the car when my dad tried to start it and i couldnt hear it prime or anything

you need to remove the round plate thats screwed to the floor of the boot on the passenger side, undo the 2 hoses, unplug the sender/pump power wires..
there is a large plastic threaded ring nut that retains the pump carrier, if its still factory there will be a 6" jubilee clamp around the plastic ring thats awkward to remove, then its a matter of unscrewing the plastic ring and removing the pump carrier/fuel sender.. honestly its something you should do at home as the plastic ring can be a b**ch to remove unless you make a tool to undo it.. some people get away with using a big screw driver and hammer to try undo the ring but it usually damages it.. |
