i can get a set of 18" rims and tyres but they suit au onwards
should i buy them and just run spacers ?
are spacers safe to use?

i think spacers are illegal, but adaptors aren't...but i could be wrong

they are all illegal. spacers and adaptors. but as long as they are decent quality and tight they'll be fine

Yep, spacers and adapters are illegal in all states unless they come on a production model.
But.............i've had adapters on my HZ van for over 150,000 klms without a problem and my van is my daily driver, driven everywhere and i've got a set on our EA at the moment too.
I have heard of them failing, just depends on how they're made and fitted to your car I guess.

cheers guys i think ill scrap that than dont need the insurance hassels thanks any way
